Gene Kelly made it look easy to sing and dance in the rain, or to
dance with Jerry the animated mouse, or to be an American in Paris.
"But Kelly had a really phenomenal work ethic," said Robert
Trachtenberg, who wrote and produced "Gene Kelly: Anatomy of a
Dancer," part of the American Masters series that airs at 8 p.m.
Sunday on WETA.
"Kelly's story isn't about the tragedy of drugs and drinking and
