Resident's bid to overturn neighborhood covenants rejected in Black Forest

Barney Clancy was convinced he could rally his neighbors to overthrow the Wildwood Village Homeowners Association at its annual meeting Monday night.

Once installed as president, Clancy vowed to roll back the $45 annual dues and abandon the covenants -- or rules -- governing life in the Black Forest community.

"We've got a board that is doing whatever it wants," Clancy said before the meeting. "I'm going to neutralize them."

To his surprise, Clancy's ideas weren't embraced by his neighbors.

Instead, he received an HOA smackdown.
