Significant leaps for Baldwin, Inoue: a national title and a throw triple-axel

ST. LOUIS - John Baldwin and Rena Inoue vaulted from fourth place to the national title, earning the first spots on the U.S. Olympic team and making history by landing what is believed to be the first throw triple-axel in pairs competition Friday night at the U.S. Championships.

Marcy Hinzmann and Aaron Parchem held onto second place, winning silver and the other Olympic berth. The Games are Feb. 10-26 in Turin, Italy.
