LETTER PERFECT Brother continues family's spelling bee reign

The word "silhouette" was dj vu to Pikes Peak Regional Spelling
Bee contestant Doug Gagne.
The 14-year-old lifted his head and grinned when dealt the word
during the fourth round.
"I got out on that word last year," said Doug of his downfall in
the third round of last year's bee.
The repeat contender from Challenger Middle School got it right at
Friday's seventh- and eighth-grade competition, and his spelling
streak continued. He sailed through such words as "quesadilla" and
"entrechat" until stumbling on "minnesinger" during the ninth round.
