SAMUEL ROGERS, JR.

Major Samuel Rogers (Army), 45, of Monument, beloved husband,
father, son, brother and friend, passed away on January 13, after a
long illness. Sam was born November 1, 1958, in Burlington, VT, the
son of the late Dr. Sam Rogers, Sr., and Dorothy Wassel Rogers. He
was raised in Stowe, VT, where he excelled in alpine skiing and team
sports and nurtured a love of hunting, fishing, and hiking. After
graduating from Stowe High School in 1976, he entered the
Conservation Law Enforcement degree program and Army ROTC at
Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He came first to Colorado in
