The boom of fireworks. The roar of a chainsaw. The pounding of rock music at an outdoor concert.

They're the sounds of summer - and they can be hazardous to your health.

The Maryland-based American Speech-Language-Hearing Association recently launched a campaign to warn the American public about hazardous noise levels. While excessive noise is a concern any time of the year, outside noise levels escalate in the summer, the group cautions.
