Cape Breton is an island of gifted Celtic fiddlers, but Ashley MacIsaac stood out as something special by the age of 12, not only for his virtuosic bow work but also for his charisma on stage. By the time he was 19, he was a Canadian star and an up-and-comer in this country thanks to his instinctive mix of traditional fiddling and energetic alt-rock arrangements.
