It isn't often that I pick up a book of poems and read it straight
through like a novel, but that is exactly what happened with Carol
Ann Duffy's electrifying new collection, Rapture. It charts the rise
and fall of a love affair through a series of heart-stoppingly
romantic poems. The title poem, about the way love can erupt
unexpectedly into one's life, made the hairs on my arms stand up.
Read this book if you are in love, out of love or waiting for it to
come along.
