three children in Solihull, West Midlands, tells ANGELA BROOKS about
her ceramic big toe replacement - and her surgeon explains the
procedure.
THE PATIENT
WHEN I was younger, I liked to wear quite high heels. But I
started getting problems with discomfort in the big toe joint in my
left foot about three years ago. Walking any distance in shoes would
cause a deep, throbbing pain.
Even shopping in town, wearing flat shoes, my foot would be very
painful. If my husband and I went out, I would have to take off my
