Most people think of Spain as scorching dry plains and concrete coastal sprawl. But a growing number of Britons are discovering the emerald green north-west of the country, the Celtic province of Galicia. Several hundred British families now live in the area and property prices are rocketing.

Galicia is probably best known for being the culmination of one of the world's most famous pilgrimage routes, the Camino de Santiago, which winds across the north of Spain from the French Pyrenees.
