THE ROYAL Academy is to follow its blockbuster Aztecs exhibition with a show next year dedicated to 1,000 years of Turkish culture.

Years in the planning, the exhibition Turks: A Journey Of A Thousand Years will bring together more than 350 works, many of which have never been seen outside Turkey.

The RA has cultivated relations with the Turkish government - and the world-renowned Topkapi Palace Museum and Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art in Istanbul - to gain permission to borrow works for the show.
