ALEX McLEISH has dampened expectations ahead of his first dip into Champions League waters with Rangers by tipping a bucket of cold realism over thoughts of a major European run next season.

The Ibrox manager has three domestic trophies and the Bank of Scotland Manager of the Year trophy to cradle this summer, following his superb stewardship of Rangers in his first complete season with the club.
