The stabbing finger of War Minister Lord Kitchener of Khartoum in 1914 brooked no argument - your country needed you.

But his country didn't need him it seems. On the anniversary of his death, new evidence has come to light that implicates government and admiralty officials in a plot to get rid of the man they felt was hindering rather than helping the war effort.
