Oklahoma City University biology professor to be aboard Atlantis when in launches for space

A life science experiment investigated by Kent Buchanan, an
Oklahoma City University biology professor, will be aboard Atlantis
when it launches for space on Aug. 27.
Buchanan is one of four scientists working to study the effect of
space flight on microbial gene expression and virulence. Buchanan and
a group of colleagues received a NASA grant for the project about
five years ago and have been preparing for next week's mission for
more than two years.
