The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded more than $1.6 million in three grants to the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing.

The grants include $814,313 to train adult nurse practitioners through distance-learning programs at OUHSC and $85,250 for scholarships. The grant also includes $775,371 to expand the basic nursing training in rural northeast Oklahoma through the OU College of Nursing in Tulsa.
