Visitors won't hear contemporary music at the small, cream- colored church on Kentucky 812 at Zion near Henderson, Ky. Members sing from well-worn hymnals.

"Our hymns are a form of worship," said Terry Smith, 61, who drives from Eddyville, Ky., to worship at The Barrens Christadelphians Meeting Place here. "They are things we hold as part of our doctrine. Some of them are 150 years old."

The Zion ecclesia, or congregation, is one of the oldest groups in a denomination that claims about 1 million members worldwide. It's one of only two Christadelphian ecclesias in the state.
