Irises: not just for spring anymore

In spring each year, glorious displays of iris - both old and new - burst into bloom throughout Redlands and their fragrances perfume the air.

What could improve these picture-perfect irises with their spiky foliage that provides such strong and interesting architectural elements in the garden? It would have to be "reblooming irises," the ones that first bloom in spring and then rebloom in the fall.

Reblooming irises are exploding in popularity. Some now can even bloom a third time and in Southern California, some can produce an almost year-round bloom.
