Kerr-McGee board sanctions deepwater gas development

Kerr-McGee's board of directors has approved the development of the Red Hawk area in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

The Red Hawk natural gas field, with estimated proven reserves of more than 250 billion cubic feet of gas, will be developed using a new mini-floating production facility. Located in more than 5,300 feet of water, Red Hawk will be Kerr-McGee's deepest development.
