Martha Bernard doesn't remember any special occasion in her life that didn't revolve around St. Timothy Lutheran Church, her church home for her lifetime.

In fact, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Scholl, were charter members of the church that enjoyed rapid growth in the 1960s and 1970s, mirroring Huber Heights' own growth as one of the largest "bedroom" communities in Ohio.
