Willow Oak Flower and Herb Farm marks 30th anniversary in Severn

Thirty years ago, Maria Price-Nowakowski earned a masters degree in pharmacognosy, the study of medicines from natural sources.

"I loved to find out what plants contained and what they can do," she said.

Armed with her new degree, Price-Nowakowski got right back into the soil and started building what became Willow Oak Flower and Herb Farm in Severn. Next month, it is celebrating its 30th year in business.

"I just find it phenomenal that you can take this thing that looks like dust and it turns into this plant with beautiful flowers and leaves," she said.
