It's a big year to celebrate another saint

As well as Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, Germany, Greece and
Georgia, St George is the patron saint of Moscow and Ethiopia.
It is entirely appropriate that Archbishop of York John Sentamu
should be calling for St George to be identified with the
multicultural aspects of England.
Before St George was adopted as the patron saint of England, the
English had St Edmund as their patron saint. He is the king of East
Anglia who was martyred by Danish Vikings in AD 870. His saint's day
is November 20.
