Local poet has a good sense of humor

CLAREMONT - Poet Helen Sandy Graziano was born in New York City but has lived in Claremont for the past five years.

Graziano when asked her age, said, "A lady hates to tell her age - I am the same age as Robert Redford the actor-director- environmentalist, who I dated several times while we were both at Van Nuys High School."

Graziano said she lived in Beverly Hills and Sherman Oaks while she grew up.

The poet said she spent her early years in New York. Her husband Michaelangelo Graziano, once city manager of Montclair and Los Alamitos, passed on in 1996.
