The dark, dank, surly confines of the old Hell Point neighborhood once deterred many from venturing into that corner of Annapolis.

But two new developments downtown are reviving the defunct neighborhood and aiming to bring visitors back to the once-shunned area.

It's an ironic twist of fate that an Annapolis neighborhood once deemed the most undesirable place in town is now the downtown's beacon into the future. While parts of Main Street shutter, two new signature businesses abutting the end of Prince George Street plan to hark back to the memory of Hell Point.
