The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band... comes full circle
|
John McEuen, resident picker-and-grinner for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, is reminded that one of the band's most famous performances hereabouts was nearly a quarter-century ago.
The occasion: the original 1985 Farm Aid concert at the University of Illinois in Champaign.
A reporter says he was there, and remembers it well.
McEuen, headed back to Farm Aid country for a March 7 jam at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, chuckles at his own memory.
