Thornhill Park, in Blackmore Vale, Dorset, which was once home
to Sir Walter Raleigh, has been sold to a mystery buyer.
The history of Thornhill is rich. In the 1720s, it was completely
renovated by Sir James Thornhill, William Hogarth's father-in-law.
The most recent owner Tommy Kyle, 82, spent years perfecting the
property and even drafted in a group of six expert craftsmen, who
lived at the house for 10 months.
