Bromeliads add a touch of exotic color to any garden

During the last few decades, plant lovers around the world have
discovered bromeliads, and their popularity has soared.
Pronounced broh-MEE- lee-ads), these exotic plants are native to
tropical areas of North and South America. Pineapples are
bromeliads. So is Spanish moss.
Perhaps because of their often otherworldly appearance - with
inflorescent color combinations and wide variations around the world
- they may seem hard to grow.
But, says Rancho Palos Verdes resident Sue Estes, that's not the
