Nowell, Emerson scores pace Saint Joseph's

BANGOR - Kayla Nowell scored an unassisted goal at 33:49 in the first half to lead Saint Joseph's College of Standish past Husson University 2-0 in field hockey action Monday.

Kelly Emerson added an insurance goal in the second half off a corner kick. Meaghan Johnson saved seven of 15 shots for 8-3 Saint Joseph's.

Caroline Bochtler turned away six of 15 shots for 2-7 Husson.
