Muir High revamps its academics
|
PASADENA - Last school year, John Muir High School student
Jessica Perez began her day at 8 a.m., had six classes of 40 minutes
each and a 45-minute lunch break.
But this semester Muir underwent a radical restructuring that
drastically altered students' schedules. Perez, a sophomore, is
taking just four classes, each of them 90 minutes long, and she gets
a 30-minute lunch break.
"It is really different, but so far I am adjusting," she said. "I
do feel that the school is more organized now."
While the 40-acre campus looks physically the same, it now houses
four individual learning academies: ...
