NOT ALL CATS REACT TO CATNIP TOYS

Our cat used to love her catnip toys, but recently she seems to
have gone off them and does not play with them very often. Do you
have an idea why this has happened?
Not every cat has the ability to enjoy catnip. The herb belongs
to the mint family and contains the essential oil nepetalactone; the
highest concentration is in the buds.
Response to this herb is inherited, and it is estimated that 10
percent to 30 percent of cats do not react to it. Kittens younger
than 6 to 8 weeks do not react to catnip. Even in older cats the
