weekend on the palace he created to house his magnificent art
collection in the early years of the 17th century, he couldn't help
but be pleased. The "In restauro" sign which has hung on its front
door for the past 14 years was taken down yesterday and the
pleasure gardens surrounding it have erupted in a three-day
extravaganza of partying.
A wily politician, the Cardinal might also crack a smile of wry
