Sir William charity boost for college

A MAJOR revamp of a Teesside college has been funded by a charity which aims to keep its founder's name alive.

The Sir William Turner's Foundation has paid for the creation of a social room at Redcar and Cleveland College.

The Sir William Turner Centre reflects the life and influence of Sir William, who first founded his free school at Kirkleatham in the late 1600s.

The new centre, which includes a display area for students' work, will be used as a relaxation area by students, as well as a permanent display of historic articles associated with Sir…
