CANAAN VALLEY - Martin Luther "Red" Cooper knew a good Christmas
tree when he saw one, and after buying a farm in this alpine Tucker
County valley in 1944, he didn't have to look far to find a superior
specimen.
Cooper, a former Davis mayor, raised Christmas trees along with
cattle on his Canaan Valley farm in what little spare time he had
left over from operating a restaurant, running a contracting
business and looking into local mountain lion sightings.
