Preston gunsmith engraves scenes from the Bible on rifle: ; Man's creations sell for as much as $60,000

BRANDONVILLE - Gunsmith Keith Casteel is accustomed to creating
masterpieces on the guns he makes. He's not even that surprised
these days when bidding on one goes over $40,000.
But his latest work is unique among the 279 custom muzzle-
loading rifles he has created.
Not because of what it cost or how long it took to make, but
because Number 279 is covered with Biblical scenes.
The Last Supper is etched in minute detail on the 11/4 by 5-inch
polished brass of the patch box, where cloth patches are stored in
the stock. On the back of the butt plate, the Crucifixion and Mary
