Catlett finally gets 400th career victory

MORGANTOWN - After four failed attempts, the Mountaineers finally
let him eat cake.
West Virginia University Coach Gale Catlett was awarded a cake
Sunday afternoon after earning his 400th win at the school, an 85-
80
decision over Notre Dame at the Coliseum.
Catlett had been stuck on 399 since the Jan. 27 win over
Marshall.
Before each subsequent game - losses to Rutgers, Providence, Boston
College and St. John's - a cake was prepared with congratulatory
scribbling atop the icing.
"We saw it in the paper quite a bit," WVU freshman Chris Moss said
of the hard-to-achieve landmark victory. ...
