The National Clergy Council: Church Leaders Question Lieberman's Moral Convictions

WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 /U.S. Newswire / -- The National Clergy Council, representing church leaders from African-American, Catholic, Evangelical, Orthodox and Protestant traditions, today questioned how Joseph Lieberman could be so long on moral rhetoric, yet so short on moral action.

"Senator Lieberman appears to have a sort of 'jail house religion,'" said the Reverend Rob Schenck, president of the National Clergy Council, speaking for the group's Executive Council, who presented Lieberman with a hand-crafted stone artwork set of the Ten Commandments in a ceremony in Washington some time ago, ...
