REGINALD Marsh was often seen as the grumpy chief executive of many television sitcoms - most notably in The Good Life, where he played the cantakerous boss of Richard Briers (who had left the office to live off the land of Surbiton) and Paul Eddington. He was regularly cast in such roles and it was not surprising as he did, physically, fit the bill ideally.
