Townshend to produce 'Tommy' sequel for BBC

MORE than 30 years after it was written, Lifehouse, the sequel to The Who's Tommy will finally be heard.

Pete Townshend, The Who guitarist, has finally been able to produce the epic, which was originally written in 1971, as the sequel to his rock opera.

The story of Lifehouse predicts society's increasing reliance on technology and features "a vast global network", not unlike the internet.

Now the work, featuring well-known songs by The Who such as Won't Get Fooled Again and Behind Blue Eyes, is to be broadcast on BBC Radio 3, a station that usually specialises in classical music and jazz. ...
