THE International Festival's third concert series highlighting aspects of Scottish traditional music, following its exploration of song and fiddle styles in 1996 and 1997, concentrates on the many voices of our oldest national instrument. There is firm evidence from Pictish stone carvings that harps were being played in Scotland at least 1,200 years ago. Now a new generation of players and enthusiasts has emerged over the last two decades or so.
