Mayflower homes in on Dennis
|
THE Mayflower Corporation last night raised the prospect of a
bidding war for control of the Dennis bus and fire engine group after
revealing plans for a GBP 255 million takeover, trumping a rival
offer from Henlys.
Mayflower, owner of the Falkirk-based bus body builder Walter
Alexander, announced the possibility of a 450p-a-share offer in a
move clearly designed to put pressure on the Dennis board to
recommend its bid.
The announcement also hit the Henlys share price seriously
undermining the value of its all-paper offer for Dennis. Henlys
shares fell 62p, over 10 per cent, to close at 528p, ...
