Gaelic's influence is everywhere in Scotland Open Space

YOUR editorial column which precipitated vigorous correspondence may not have adopted an anti-Gaelic attitude per se. It did, however, attack a particular proposal to enhance the status of Gaelic in Edinburgh with such vehemence that Gaels and their supporters could perhaps be forgiven for inferring a sub-text of hostility which wasn't there. That, at least, is clear from the letters which have appeared since. What's also remarkable is that no letters critical of the proposal have appeared.
