Gardeners should give thanks for insectivores

Are you ready for an English lesson? This information is not found in every book of facts but it will be printed here - I'm sure for the first time in this column that has discussed a variety of topics in the last 30 years or so.

The word is "insectivorous." The meaning is: using insects for food. And we need more insectivores in many gardens to aid in insect control. If the insects were used for food by more insectivorous creatures the insecticide manufacturers would have to go out of business unless it was found that the eaters would finish their meals, then turn on the buds ...
