Selah Looking at Year-Round Swim Complex -- Survey asks people if they would backa property tax increase

For nine months of the year, the closest Selah residents can get
to a public swimming pool is Yakima.
But that could change.
While Selah has an aging outdoor pool that operates 11 weeks a
year, the city Parks and Recreation Department wants to give the
public a year-round option.
The department is interested in replacing the pool with a $3
million indoor pool complex, and survey questions sent out early
this month to about 20,000 people in the Selah School District show
the public might be, too. So far, more than 200 survey responses -
mostly supportive - have trickled back.
