Rail Project Deadline Extended -- State gives Inness until April 10 to complete project between Yakima and Naches

State officials have given Yakima Interurban Lines Association president George Inness more time to restore an 11-mile rail between Yakima and Naches.

It is the third extension the state Department of Transportation's rail office in Olympia has granted Inness to complete a state-funded project to reintroduce freight service to the Naches Valley.

Inness, facing a Friday deadline to complete a project designed to reduce truck traffic on Highway 12, now has until April 10.
