Future Use of Forces in Abkhazia Possible: Georgian President

Georgia is not planning to use forces right now in its breakaway
republic of Abkhazia but does not rule out the possibility of using
forces if all negotiations fail, Georgian President Eduard
Amvrosiyevich Shevardnadze told a press conference Monday in the
capital city of Tbilisi.
Georgia will never put up with the loss of Abkhazia, Interfax
quoted the president as saying. "The only way to save the Abkhaz
people is peace talks and a joint living in the united Georgian
state," he said.
Shevardnadze said the key element of the peace process is
negotiations between Georgia and Abkhazia, although ...
