Prefers Joint Ownership of Caspian Sea: FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said here Tuesday that
Iran prefers a joint ownership of the Caspian Sea resources with
other littoral states.
Iran is ready to accept a complete division of the Caspian Sea
among its five littoral states, with Iran having a 20 percent share,
Kharrazi told Victor Kalyuzhny, Russian President Vladimir Putin's
special envoy for Caspian Sea affairs.
The five littoral states of the Caspian Sea are Iran, Russia,
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. The states have long called
for a legal regime to govern the Caspian Sea, which has high
