Congo Rebels Continue to Violate Ceasefire: Official

Rebels in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) have been deliberately undermining the Lusaka peace agreement and other initiatives meant to bring peace to the DRC, according to a statement available here on Tuesday.

In the statement, Zimbabwe National Army spokesman Chancellor Diye said this assessment was made by Ben Ncube, an official of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) allied forces in the DRC.

He quoted Ncube as saying that the SADC allied forces had crushed an ill- fated attempt by the rebel Movement for the Liberation of Congo (MLC) to cut the main supply routes ...
