Mohammad Reza Khatami, a brother of the moderate President Mohammad Khatami, has risen to prominence as a leading reformist runner in the Friday parliamentary polling.

The reformist Islamic Iran Participation Front (IIPF) has sought to make Khatami the top winner in the polls while the pro-reform young generation even hope Khatami to be the speaker of next Majlis (parliament) to work along with his elder brother for a better future.
