Sri Lanka Launches Campaign Against German Measles
|
Sri Lanka has launched a national immunization campaign to
eliminate German measles, according to Health Ministry sources
Thursday.
The sources quoted Minister of Health Nimal Siripala de Silva as
saying at a seminar Wednesday that German measles had earlier
contributed to the birth of disabled children causing pain of mind
and depression to parents and families.
The campaign named "Rubella Immunization Program", will initially
cover the female population of 3.1 million in the 11 to 44 age ...
