Saudi King Fahd Hospitalized for Health Check

Saudi King Fahd Ibn Abdul-Aziz was admitted to hospital in Riyadh
Monday for a medical check-up following a gall bladder infection, a
statement released by Saudi Royal Court said.
Saudi Press Agency quoted the statement as saying that he is
undertaking a test for cholecystitis.
King Fahd, now 76, suffered a stroke in November 1995 which
resulted in a temporary hand-over of power to his younger
half-brother Crown Prince and First Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah
Ibn Abdul-Aziz.
In February 1996, King Fahd resumed activities and received
