TANZANIA'S COFFEE, SISAL SELL WELL IN JAPANESE

Tanzania exported coffee worth more than 39.4 million U.S.
dollars
to Japan in 1998, according to statistics of the Japan External
Trade
Organization (JETRO) Tuesday.
Other major products exported to Japan by Tanzania are sisal
hemp,
fish products, sesame seeds, textile yarn, tobacco and bee's wax,
said a press release issued by JETRO in Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania was the leading exporter of sisal to Japan in 1998 with
sisal worth more than 1.06 million U.S. dollars exported that year,
a
sharp increase of 57.8 percent from the level in 1997.
